We have been doing a lot of work around Remembrance Day. One of the things we wanted to do was try and raise money for the Help for Heroes charity. We have put on a coffee morning last term but this term we decided to get creative.
All learners have been involved in painting wooden Tommys to sell around Remembrance Day. We all thought about designs that could show the soldiers experience and tried to add this into our designs.
For mine, I tried to make it look realistic, using the actual colours they would have worn. I added a poppy because we hope to sell them for people to display on November 11th.
We are proud of what we have done and are looking forward to raising money for a good cause. = In total over £300 was raised by the young people for Help for Heroes.
