Government funding to support with Covid support lessons

Although Covid has made the world a more challenging place, our learners have continued to work exceptionally hard and achieved great results. With the help of a government fund we have been able to provide 11 extra hours a week of functional skills support. Learners have had the opportunity to work in smaller groups and teachers have built intensive revision programmes to ensure our young people are not disadvantaged by the current situation. The positive response from learners has been amazing with one of our peer mentors stating,

‘It’s really helped me catch up in Maths and English. Being in smaller group means we can have more help and I feel more ready for exams.’

Education Centre Manager Abbie Shepherd states that

‘the extra funding we have received has really made a difference enabling us to provide an intensive and bespoke functional skills catch up plan for all of our learners. Teachers and learners have worked extremely hard in difficult circumstances.’
